It hurts just to say this, but another summer is coming to a close pretty quick.

One of the sure signs each year that summer is getting ready to say adios is the arrival of the "Downtown Riverfest" in Sioux Falls.

The 2023 version of Riverfest is coming up this Saturday, (August 19) from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

This is the 10th year for Riverfest, and year number 10 promises to be another big party along the Big Sioux that's filled with awesome live music, a variety of fun activities, food vendors, display vendors, a ton of COLD beverages, cause it's gonna be hot outside, and much, much more!

What you need to know:

First, downtown Sioux Falls has called an audible on this year's location due to all the construction going on in the area near Sherapa Place along the river where the event is normally held each year. The new location in Fawick Park is out of that line of construction and will provide Riverfest partygoers with a ton of space to hang out and have fun.

Tenley Schwartz, the marketing director for Downtown Sioux Falls stopped by Dakota News Now recently to talk about the entertainment lineup for this year's event. On-tap entertainment wise this year is Rich Show & the Airports starting at 5:30 PM. Spooncat hits the Riverfest stage starting at 7:30 that night, and Sioux Falls favorite, Kory and the Fireflies will bring this year's Riverfest home when they take the stage from 9:30 to 11:00 PM.

The Friends of the Big Sioux River will be on hand that night selling raffle tickets for an opportunity to win an inflatable paddle board. All the money they raise that evening will go towards their efforts to protect the Big Sioux River.

You'll want to show up hungry that night because they'll be (16) different food vendors on hand selling everything from Gelato, to Ice Cream, to Burgers and Burritos.

Nearly (30) different product and retail vendors will also be on-site that night with a variety of things to look at and buy.
